What is Qi Gong? (pronounced Chi Gong)
The word Qi means Vital Energy or Life Force.
Gong means Discipline or Art.
Qi Gong is the discipline or art of cultivating Qi – Vital Energy.
Qi Gong integrates body and mind through physical movement, breathing, relaxation, concentration and visualization.
Qi Gong develops awareness of the movement of Qi through the body as well as the ability to consciously direct and control that movement.
Circulation of Qi and blood is tonified, stagnancies and blockages are cleared, thus healing is promoted, vitality enhanced and immune function regulated.
Traditionally, in China, specific Qi Gong movements and forms have been prescribed to patients for promoting healing of both physical ailments and internal organ imbalances and deficiencies.
Enhancing the flow of Qi, enhances the body’s potential for self healing.
